Trismosin's 'Splendor Solis' is an exceptional illuminated alchemical manuscript from the 16th century. The Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica holds both older and newer versions of this text, and has published on the manuscript itself. American artist Laurie Lipton has skillfully recreated all 22 images from this manuscript with colour pencil. A selection of 6 drawings are available in the form of an oversized postcard.

The sixth flask of Transformation, under the government of Mercury

'The flask is unsealed so that the refined spiritual forces in the flask of transformation may be grounded into matter by the addition of the cold contractive powers of the Moon, leading to the formation of the White Tincture.'

A description of the image is provided on the back of each card in four different languages (Dutch, English, German, and French).

All six postcards are also available as a set here.
