Trismosin's 'Splendor Solis' is an exceptional illuminated alchemical manuscript from the 16th century. The Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica holds both older and newer versions of this text, and has published on the manuscript itself. American artist Laurie Lipton has skillfully recreated all 22 images from this manuscript with colour pencil. A selection of 6 drawings are available in the form of an oversized postcard.

The fourth Parable

'The dark man is undergoing a transformation in the swamp. Although his body is decayed and muddy, his head is filled with a globe of spiritual light. The angel rescues him from the mire and leads him to spiritual regeneration.'

A description of the image is provided on the back of each card in four different languages (Dutch, English, German, and French).

All six postcards are also available as a set here.
